Self-Report Measures
Children as young as 3 years of age have the ability to discriminate degrees of pain in facial expressions. Faces pain scales are commonly used to measure pain intensity for young children
Infants
•Infants do feel pain

Toddlers
•React to painless procedures as intensely as painful ones
●Get angry and aggressive
●React with fear
●May regress
Preschool
