P vs PO
PO are legally classified as GSL
examples of POMs that can be P when sold in smaller pack sizes, strengths, certain indications, certain forms
- hydrocortisone – 1% cream 15g (P) (strength and form)
- Naproxen 250mg – primary dysmenorrhea in women aged between 15 and 50 years (P) (indication)
- codeine, DHC, morphine and pholcodine are exempt from POM when in preps with only 1 of the CDs below a stated strength (CDs)
