Post-partum hemorrhage

CONTRAINDICATIONS
A
- Baby & placenta not delivered
- Additional fetus present

SIDE EFFECTS
A
- Hypotension
- Tachycardia
- Dysrhythmias
- Seizures
- Coma
- N + V
If given prior to fetal delivery:
- Fetal hypoxia
- Fetal asphyxia
- Fetal intracranial bleeding

(ADULT) 3 - 30units (IM)

- Can cause over stimulation of uterus & possible uterine rupture
- Monitor vitals & uterine tone
