What does the DC Service switch power?
Level 1 Knowledge:
DC Service Switch - Connects DC Service to the APU battery direct bus
- Drains the APU battery if left on.
- Not normally used by us
Level 2 Knowledge
- Powers Lights (NAV, becon, service, boarding, toilet, and galley dome)
- Boarding announcement
- Cabin lights, upward and downward
- Service Bus feed
- Power sensing (Service Bus and TRU)
- Chart holder
- Water and waste control
What lights will illuminate with the Battery Master on?
(NO AC power established)

- AC ESS XFER Switch light
- INOP Left and Right Boost Pump Switch lights
- Fault Press Cont
- Off Left and Right Packs
Screens that turn on with the Battery Master Swtich ON
- ED1

Center Console things that turn on with the Battery Master Switch ON
- Mach Trim
- Backup RTU
(1 on 1st row, 2 2nd row 3 3rd row)
What does the illumination of the AVAIL portion on the AC switch light indicate?
Level 1
- The system has the correct voltage, frequency, and phase but is not currently being used by the aircraft
Level 2
- 115 Volts
- 400Hz
- 3 Phase
What does the illumination of the INUSE portion on the AC switch light indicate?
Level 1
- Indicates external AC Power is being used to power the aircraft
Level 2
- AC Bus 1 Powered
- AC Bus 2 Powered
- AC ESS Bus Powered
- AC SERV Bus

What does the illumination of the FAULT portion of the IDG guarded switch light mean?
The associated IDG (Integrated Drive Generator) has either low oil PSi or High oil temperature.

What does the illumination of the DISC portion of the IDG guarded switch light mean?
The associated IDG (Integrated Drive Generator) has been disconnected.
The IDG has to be reset by maintenace on the ground with the engines off.
What does the illumination of the AC ESS XFER swtich light indicate
AC BUS 1 is not powering the AC ESS BUS
Manually pressed – Transfer ESS Bus to AC Bus 2
(Only done if QRH tells you to)
When should a generator be reset?
When directed by the QRH
Example: QRH ELEC 12
What does the illumination of the FAIL portion of the AUTO XFER switch light mean
Auto transfer disabled or inhibited because of a Bus Fault or Generator overcurrent
- The associated GCU (Generator control unit) has detected a BUS fault or generator overcurrent
- Affected generator is taken offline
- GCU inhibits the auto transfer system on the afected side
- Associated AC BUS can no longer be powered by the APU or other side generator
What does the illumination of the OFF portion of the AUTO XFER switch light mean
Auto transfer off
This would only happen if the QRH told you to turn it off.

- FIRE SYS OK advisory message
- Left and Right ENG and APU FIRE PUSH switch light illuminate
- Left and Right APU BOTTLE ARMED PUSH TO DISCHARGE switch light illuminates
- Both MASTER WARNING Flashers Illuminate
- FWD and AFT CARGO SMOKE PUSH switch lights illuminate
- Cargo BOTTLE ARMED PUSH TO DISCHARGE switch lights

What is associated with the FAILURE of the fire test
One or more of the 11 Lights will not be illuminated and there will be NO FIRE SYS OK advisory Message. The lights that are not illuminated are the problem areas with the Firex detection system.
What is the function of the left or right HYD SOV guarded switch light
To Close the HYD SOV which shuts off the flow of hydraulic fluid to the associated EDP (Engine Driven Pump)
Also, Engine Fire push switch also closes the HYD SOV.
What does the INOP portion of the Left or Right Boost Pump indicate?
The pump PSI is too low
What does the ON portion of the Left or Right Boost Pump indicate?
The pump outlet PSI is satisfactory, it’s pumping fuel
