sudden onset severe unilateral pelvic pain
nausea and vomiting
localised tenderness

whirlpool sign
free fluid in pelvis
oedema in ovary

A
laparoscopic surgery
either
- detorsion
- oopherectomy

complications
A
delay in treatment - loss of function
necrotic ovary not removed - infection, abscess, sepsis
