What is the inheritance pattern of otosclerosis?
A
Autosomal dominant with incomplete penetrance

What is the pathophysiology of otosclerosis?
A
Stapedial otosclerosis (most common site)
- Fixation of stapes to the oval window
- This produces conductive hearing loss

What are the clinical features of otosclerosis?
A
- Slowly progressive conductive hearing loss
- Tinnitus
- Mild vertigo
- Paracusis willisii: patients hear better in noisy environments
- Schwartze sign: red-blue hue seen through the TM

What is the management of otosclerosis?
A
- Stapedectomy/Stapedotomy
- Cochlear implants (bilateral deafness)
