Admission
10 days oral erythromycin
Steroids and induce at 34 weeks
What does HELLP stand for?
HAemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes and Low Platelets
What is HELLP?
Serious manifestation of pre-eclampsia
What s the presentation of HELLP?
Hypertension
Abdo pain and vomiting
Jaundice
Bleeding
What is the presentation of obstetric cholestasis?
Intense pruritus, especially of palms, soles and abdomen
Jaundice
What investigations are done doe obstetric cholestasis?
LFTs- Increased bilirubin and LFTs, especially ALP
What is the management of obstetric cholestasis?
Urodeoxycholic acid UDCA
Induction at 37 weeks
What is acute fatty liver of pregnancy?
Rare complication in 3rd trimester/immediately following delivery
What is the presentation of acute fatty liver of pregnancy?
Abdo pain, N&V
HEadache
Jaundice
What investigations are done for acute fatty liver of pregnancy?
LFTs- raised LFTs, esp ALT
