How is Beneficence performed?
- Provide equal services
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships
- Take precautions to avoid clients’ harm
- Intervention and evaluation plans are appropriate and client-centered.
- Ensures service fees are fair and commensurate with service.

Example: OT doesn’t inflict harm or injury on client, or others
Nonmaleficence

Example: Respect and honor what clients want or say

How is Autonomy, Privacy, Confidentiality performed?
- Collaborate with clients in determining goals, interventions plans.
- Fully inform clients of nature, risks, outcomes of intervention.
- Obtain informed consent, ensure they have been fully-advised.
- Respect clients’ rights to refusal of services or involvement in research.
- Respect confidential nature of information.

Example: Report potential or known unethical practices and actions to the appropriate authorities
PAOT

How is Justice performed?
- Understanding and abiding by academy policies, national laws, and institutional rules.
- Inform employers, employees, and colleagues about those laws.
- Adhere to Code of Ethics.
- Record and report information related to professional activities.
