What does the CMOP-E stand for?
Canadian Model of Occupational Performance and Engagement
What is the CMOP-E for?
- Aims to promote client-centered practice and the profession’s view that occupation is the main domain of concern.
- The model extends interest to performing and having occupations, and envisions health, well-being, and justice as attainable through occupation and promotes this vision.
CMOP-E’s 3 main components:
- Environment
- Occupation
- Person

Components of the Person:
PACS
- Physical
- Affective
- Cognitive
- Spiritual
- At the core of the person
- shaped and expressed through occupations
- refers to the essence of self, where determination and meaning are drawn
Spirituality
Where individuals exist and where occupations occur, influences the person and occupation, and where individuals are presented with occupational opportunities
Environment
Components of Environment:
PICS
- Physical
- Institutional
- Cultural
- Social
The link between the person and environment, and a means through the environment is acted upon
Occupation
Components of Occupation:
PLS
- Productivity
- Leisure
- Self-care
What is CMOP-E’s assessment tool?
Canadian Occupational Performance Measure
What is the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure?
- Client-centered outcome measure to identify and prioritize everyday issues that restrict their participation in everyday living and can be used for all ages.
- It identifies issues of personal importance and detects changes in a client’s self-perception of occupational performance over time.
