pathophysiology of RA

A

gene: failure of tolerance and unregulated lymphocyte activation.

smoking: alter protein to form antigens that trigger immune system to produce autoantibodies. Rhematoid factor and anti CCP . this results in synoviocyte activation, cytokine production and inflammation. thus destruction of cartilage and bones
