Orthopedics (Pt. 1) Flashcards
Musculoskeletal System
Consists of the bones, muscles, and joints of the body. The bones are joined by ligaments to form the skeleton, which is the framework of the body.
Joint

Muscles in Muscoskeletal System
Muscles, attached to the skeleton by tendons, cross over joints. These muscles contract to move the bones at each joint.
Orthopedics (Orthopedic Surgery)
The medical specialty that treats disorders involving the musculoskeletal system.
- Phycisians: Orthopedists (Orthopedic Surgeons)
