- No 64 pliers
- pencil
- wire cutter

What are the stages of making an Adam’s clasp (1st half)?
A
- mark up the undercuts of the cast
- make the arrowheads
- contour arrowheads to tooth at 45 degrees
- hold LHS arrowhead the inside of the bridge
- hold pliers horizontally and bend wire upwards, then turn pliers so that the bridge is horizontal and bend wire upwards
- grasp outer portion of LHS arrowhead and bend wire 45 degrees to create S-bend
- contour wire between teeth, cut and create tag

- rotate hand so that bridge is horizontal and bend wire upwards
- grasp outer part of RHS arrowhead and bend 45 degrees
- contour between teeth, cut and create tag

How do you activate an Adam’s clasp?
A
- begin at acrylic and bend in direction required
- create a “dip bend” 2mm along from acrylic to prevent patient from biting on wire
- adjust arrowheads in towards the bridge to engage undercut
