A
- ulcerated and necrotic papilla with punched out appearance
- yellow/grey ulcers with slaim
- severe pain
- develops quickly

A
Lower anteriors inter-proximally

What are the risk factors for developing ANUG in the UK?
A
- malnourished/vitamin deficient
- smoking
- stress/sleep deprivation
- poor OH
- immunosuppressed

What is the acute management of ANUG?
A
- debridement
- chlorhexidine 0.2% MW if brushing too painful
- antibiotics
- smoking cessation
- HPT if ANUP

What antibiotics are prescribed for ANUG?
A
- metronidazole 400mg TID for 3 days
- amoxicillin 500mg TID for 3 days (if allergy)
