How does bile help the digestive system?
A
- Produced in the liver and stored in the gall bladder
- Secreted in the small intestine
-Neutralises stomach acid - providing alkaline conditions needed in the small intestine - Emulsfies fat - providing a larger surface area which the lipease enzymes can work.

A
Waves of muscles contraction which move the food along the gut.

How is villi adapted to help the digestive system?
A
- Wall is just one cell thick - helps with diffusion and active transport.
- Network of blood capillaries - glucose and amino acids.
- Internal structure (lacteal) - fatty acids and glycerol.
