These medications act on the pancreas to stimulate insulin production.
These medications are for type two diabetes mellitus only.
These medication must be taken with meals.

A
-Do not give before 48 hours after an intravenous pyelogram (IVP) both this medication and dye combined can cause kidney damage.

Glyburide
A
- Take in the morning.
- May drop blood glucose levels quickly.
- Have a snack available. This medication can cause jaundice.

Rosiglitazone Maleate

- Can cause jaundice.
- May decrease the effectiveness of oral contraceptives.

- Subcutaneous injectable medication
- may cause G.I. distress
- not recommended for clients also taking insulin.
