In general:

  1. Wt should be taken the day of med administration
  2. avoid vaccinations during therapy
  3. Med can cause an INCREASE in URIC ACID (HYPERURICEMIA)
  4. Some Pxs will be given blood thinners with cancer meds to INCREASE EFFECTIVENESS.

In general:

A
  1. Use BLEEDING PRECAUTIONS
  2. Special handling may be required (CYTOTOXIC)
    - may cause birth defects
    - NO PREGNANT /BREASTFEEDING Nurses to care for Px
    - Gowns, gloves, face protection if administering liquid
    - Gloves (1 pair) if administering solid
    - Gloves (2 pairs) if applying creams
  3. Extravasation may occur at IV site
    1st priority: STOP infusion
    2nd priority: notify HCP
