Describe various methods of training
- Flexibility training
- Strength + resistance training
- Circuit training
- Interval training
- Plymetrics
- Continous training
- Fartlek
- Cross-training
Discuss possible indicators of over-training
- Changes in resting HR
- Chronic muscle soreness
- Reduced immune function + frequent upper-respiratory infection (coughs and colds)
- Sleep disturbance
- Fatigue
- Decreased appetite
- Sudden + unexplained descrease in performance
Discuss how periodization should be organized to optimise performance and avoid overtraining and injury
Transition (post-season)
Preparation (pre-season)
Competition (season)
Macrocycle: 1-4 years
Mesocycle: 1-3 months
Microcycle: 7-14 days
Explain the relationship between cellular metabolism and the production of heat in the human body
When cellular metabolism increase: heat production increase
vice versa
