Causes of optic neuritis?
A
- Infective
- tuberculosis
- syphilis
- lyme - Non infective:
- demyelinating (MS), autoimmune related, drug induce

Symptoms of Optic neuritis?
A
- Gardual reduction of vision within hours or days
- Central scotoma
- Retrobulbar optic neuritis (cause pain on eye movement)

Management optic neuritis?
A
Infective: treat underlying disease
Non infective:
- MRI
- lumbar puncture
Tx: high dose steroid

Non arteritic Anterior ischemic Optic Neuropathy
Sign and symptom
A
Sx:
- Sudden loss of vision
- Painless
- No red eye
Sign:
- Poor vision
- Disfunction ON
- Altitudinal VF defect
