CRVO Flashcards
0
Q
3 symptoms of CRVO?
A
- Painless
- Monocoluar
- Gradual/sudden visual loss
1
Q
6 predisposing factors CRVO?
A
- Arterosclerotic vascular disease
- Hypertension
- Diabetes Mellitus
- Glaucoma
- Hyperviscosity: PRV, lymphoma, leukemia
- Drugs: OCP, direutics
2
Q
Sign of CRVO?
A
- +/- RAPD
- Intraretinal hemorrhage
- Cotton wool spot
- Dilated/torturous vessel
- Swollen optic disc
- Macular edema
3
Q
Ischemic CRVO? Sign?
A
Extensive blockage (extensive area of capillary non perfusion
Sign
- +ve RAPD
- Very poor vision
- New vessel formation: vitreous hemorrhage, rubeosis, TRD
- More hemorrhage, CWS, congestion
4
Q
Non-ischemic CRVO? Sign?
A
Partial blockage (minimal area of no perfusion
Sign
- No RAPD
- Good vision
- No new vessel
5
Q
4 complication?
A
- Degeneration of RPE
- Neovascularization of retina and iris
And lead to 2* glaucoma - Vitreous hemorrhage
- Maclar edema
6
Q
Treatment CRVO?
A
- Retinal laser photocoagulation/anti VEGF injection to reduce retinal or iris neovasularization and prevent neovascular glaucoma
- Macular grid laser photocoagulation for macular edema tratment
