OpSpecs Miscellaneous Flashcards
A027 . What are the PIC, weather, approach and runway requirements to complete a LAHSO?
- PIC: Has final authority, can decline if unsafe, must advise ATC - Weather: 1,000 ft and 3 miles (PAPI or VASI), otherwise 1,500 ft and 5 miles are required. - Approach: Stable by 1,000 ft AFE for Straight in, MDA or 500ft AFE circling - Runway: Must be dry, enough landing distance, touchdown 1st 1/3 runway. No MEL that affects landing performance
B031. Areas of En Route Operation. What type of navigation class are we authorized to do and when can we deviate from those routes?
- IFR Class I navigation. Radar and Non Radar controlled. Class A Airspace must always be in radar controlled. - Deviations from routings specified in this paragraph are authorized when necessary due to inflight emergencies or to avoid potentially hazardous meteorological conditions.
B046. The following criteria require ATC notification when the flight is unable to continue RVSM operation:
- Altitude deviations of 200 ft or greater. Declare an emergency when unable to comply with the assigned altitude. - Failure of transponder(s) - Failure of either primary altimeter system - Failure of altitude alerting and/or capture capability - Failure of the AFCS (SOPM 04-09.10) (Ops Specs B046)
C050. Special Pilot-in-Command Qualification Airports requirements?
PIC or SIC must have made an approach to that airport in a D sim or better in the last 12 months. PIC qualified via ‘pictorial’ means accepted by the administrator of the airport (Ops Specs C050)
C056. What is the standard IFR takeoff minimums for an aircraft with 2 engines or less?
Standard takeoff minimums are defined as 1 statute mile visibility or RVR 5000 for airplanes having 2 engines or less. (Ops Specs C056)
C063 . Area Navigation (RNAV) and Required Navigation Performance (RNP) Terminal Operations. What type of RNAV or RNP is the operator authorized to conduct?
- IFR RNAV 1 and/or RNP 1 instrument departure procedures (DP); RNAV 1 and/or RNP 1 Standard Terminal Arrival Routes (STAR)
C075 . Category I IFR Landing Minimums - Circle-to-Land Approach Maneuver. What are the minimum MDA weather conditions allowed for a circling approach?
(a) The reported ceiling is at least 1,000 feet and the visibility is at least 3 statute miles; or (b) The reported weather is at least equal to the charted circling landing minimums for the approach to be used, whichever is higher.
C077 . Terminal Visual Flight Rules, Limitations, and Provisions. Under what conditions can you depart VFR? Under what conditions can you fly a visual approach or CVFP?
Can depart VFR but must pick up IFR clearance within 50nm from airport
Can accept a visual approach within 35nm of Class E airport, or any distance in B, C, D airspace if runway in sight or preceding traffic insight
Minimum weather required is a ceiling of 1000ft and 3 miles visibility and basic cloud clearance observed
C078. Lower than Standard take-off minimums:
C059. What are the CAT II requirements with regard to runway, approach lights and RVR?
