Who will nominate an RVP.
Police,
They should check RVP is safe but all to be vigilant for Secondary Devices
Who do Control notify for all suspect packages/ IEDs
ILO,
Will liaise with Police and pass info to IC. May mobilise to support IC
Controls actions on receipt of call to incident with threat of guns /weapons?
Direct crews to a safe RVP if nominated by Police
Reserve crews at station till agreed safe RVP identified
ILO will liaise with MPS to ascertain nature of threat, details of incident and safe RVP
Crews not to move from RVP towards incident unless instructed by Control or MPS
If danger of fire and threat still present who puts the fire out?
Police may deem it necessary to put fire out. Maybe given a H/R or Jet.
ILO will assist provide a multi agency plan to achieve this
What advice have the MPS provided for crews who find themselves in a firearm incident
Immediately move to substantial cover (concrete, structural part of building, vehicle engine block
If no cover get out of line of sight
If safe, make immediate retreat away directing public too
ASAP crews should contact control or police and provide info
What info should be passed to control/ police once safe to
Number and exact location of gunmen
Description of weapons being used
Description of gunmen, info on victims and hostages
