When is Stage ii to be used.
1/ more than 1 ECP 2/ > 6 wearers 3/ complexity of incident requires greater control, supervision 4/ protracted BA Ops 5/ Guidelines 6/ EDBA 7/ Telemetry repeaters or leaky feeder deployed 8/ Basement fires large and complex to require stage ii 9/ Emergency Team committed 10/ CPS out of sight of ECP 11/ Hi-Ex foam. 12/ Other agencies committed in BA. 13/ Risks demand higher level of Emergency provision.
Can personnel wear BA without IC’s permission first.

Exceptional circumstances only.
Eg. Wind change = pump operator in smoke with crews relying on them.
Don BA and inform IC and ECO ASAP.
Under what circumstances might there be a need for a single BA wearer.
BA stage i to be applied.
Car fires, rubbish fires, hot cutting, working a monitor at head of aerials.
Following circumstances must apply.
1/ Not within a building
2/ in constant view of IC or nominated other. Can be quickly removed
When should Emergency Team be committed
ECO must inform Person responsible for ECP or IC before committing ET.
1/ low pressure warning time elapsed and no contact with crew. 2/ ADSU heard or indicated on ECB 3/ Signs BA in distress or imminent danger 4/ prolonged and unexplained loss of comms 5/ BA Team requested help
