- *antagonist
- competes w/ opioids for CNS receptor sites
- blocking drug for opioid drugs
- *does not produce analgesia or respiratory distress
- *used for complete / partial reversal of opioid-induced respiratory depression / opioid OD

acetaminophen (Tylenol)
A
- *non-opioid!!
- treats: mild - moderate pain; decreases fever
- maximum dose for adults 4000 mg (3000 mg in lecture)
- toxic dose / chronic doses = affect the liver
- antidote for OD = acetlycystine
