  • pre-operatively; moderate sedation

- causes: amnesia / reduces anxiety

fentanyl / morphine (opiates)

A
  • fentanyl = 100x more potent than morphine
  • injection = most common for perioperative
  • oral / transdermal patch = chronic pain
    • be careful w/ patches – lead to easy OD and death
