hepatic and renal impairment

Strong opioid interactions
A
should not be used with other sedating drugs e.g.
- TCA
- BZDs
- antipsychotics

- N+V = antiemetic (metoclopramide)
- stimulant laxative = Senna
- ++ hydration

Tramadol and seizures
A
Lowers sz threshold - avoid in its with epilepsy

Weak opioid administration
A
- weak opioids mainly given orally (or IM)
- avoid operating machinery, driving etc if drowsy
- if compound given, avoid other paracetamol containing products (max 4g/day - prescription r/v)
