When are NSAIDs used? (excluding aspirin)
A
- mild/moderate/PRN pain management
- inflammatory mediated pain (RA, OA, gout)

What are the ADRs of NSAIDs?
A
- gastric irritation, ulcers, bleeding
- bronchospasm
- renal impairment
- fluid retention
- CV risk (stroke/MI)

NSAIDs contraindications
A
- Renal/hepatic failure
- HF
- Asthma
- Indigestion (ulcers)
- Dyscrasias (coagulation defects)
pregnancy, breastfeeding

Interactions of NSAIDs (think of the effects it has)
A
- other NSAIDs e.g. aspirin = ++ GI bleed
- antiplts/anticoags
- ACEis/other nephrotoxic drugs
- low dose steroids e.g. prednisolone
- SSRIs

A
take with/after food to minimise gastric irritation
