Pharmacology & Actions
A
- Selectively blocks serotonin 5-HT3 receptors in the brain
- Primary effect is in the GI tract
- No effect on dopamine receptors, therefor does not cause extrapyramidal symptoms (drug induced movement disorder)

Nausea or Vomiting

Absolute Contraindications
A
- prolonged QT
- Patients <1month old
- allergy

Precautions and Side Effects
A
May cause prolonged QT, do not use with patients who have prolonged QT syndrome

A
- IV/IO/PO/SL
- Onset of 10-30min
- Peak 1.5hrs
- Duration 8hrs
- Dose 4mg
