- Endongenous Catecholamine
- Acts on Dopaminergic and Adrenergic neurons
- Beta effects on heart -> increases cardiac output without increasing HR or BP

Treatment of Cardiogenic or Distributive shock

Absolute Contradictions
A
-Hypovolemia
- Allergy

Precautions and Side Effects
A
- May induce Tacharrhythmias (stop drug)
- High doses cause vasoconstriction
- Do not administer with sodium bicarbonate or other alkaline drugs as they deactivate dopamine
- Always try fluids before Dopamine
- Works best with Rx Pump
