Flysmart + date, QRH, OEB, available systems (aircraft configuration summary)
Lido green tick
Aircraft acceptance: perform (sign techlog)
What to do when receiving a start up clearance?
Switch on beacon. This is the trigger for PM to switch on transponder. Request checklist.
What is the maximum altimeter difference on ground?
Between PFDs, 20 ft and 100ft with standby compass. Maximum 75ft from airport elevation.
What is the starting sequence of the engine? CEO/NEO
N2 rises, start valve line green, bleed pressure indicator green, oil pressure increase
16 % CEO / above 20% NEO indication of active ignitor A/B
22% (C) / above 20% (N) N22, FF increases and EGT and N1 increase
50% (C) N2, start valve closing and ignitor indication off
55% (N) N2 ignitor indication off, 63% N2 start vale closing
What are the engine idle parameters? C/N
Engine idle parameters
CEO NEO
N1 19.5% 19%
N2 58.5% 68%
EGT 390°C 520°C
FF 275 kg/hr 290 kg/hr
2-6-4-3 and 2-7-5-3
What is the minimum temperature for oil on the NEO for takeoff?
19 degrees
What are icing conditions?
OAT/TAT below 10 degrees and visibile moisture present
When do we apply the ice shedding procedure?
30 minutes or more taxi time with a temperature of below 3 degrees or when engine vibrations occur.
In freezing conditions every 10 mins for CEO.
What is the ice shedding procedure?
For CEO: 70 percent N1 for 30 sec every 30 mins.
For NEO: 50 percent N1 for 5 sec every 60 mins.
When is an engine inspection needed on the NEO?
If in temperatures below 3 degrees for over 120 mins.
What are the flex temperature corrections?
1 degree for every 2 hPa drop in QNH. 5 degrees for engine anti ice on
What are the Tref temperatures?
A319 30 degrees + ISA
A320 29 degrees + ISA
A321 15 degrees + ISA
When/how to charge the battery?
When below 25.5V. Battery pb to auto, external power on. After 20 mins, turn battery’s off and check if above 25.5V.
How to check the batteries
Turn off, check elec page, in 10 sec ampere must be below 60 and decreasing. If not: charge battery.
What are the things you see & hear on an engine fire warning test?
7 items:
CRC
Eng fire pb light on
Squibs lit
Disch lit
Master warning
ECAM
Warning light at engine master switch
What are the stable approach criteria for vertical path?
Within 1 dot glideslope, 3/4 dot vertical deviation (100ft), not 4 white/red on papi.
What are the stable approach criteria for lateral path?
Within 1 dot localiser, Xtrack within 0.3nm for non RNP AR, L/DEV 1 RNP for RNP AR, within 30 degrees of track for visual/circling
By 1000ft we must be:
Fully configered, speed within Vapp+30
By 500 ft we must be:
On vertical and lateral path, maximum rate of descent according to path, Speed max Vapp+10/-5, maximum bank 15 degrees, landing checklist completed
When to do a discontinued approach/go around?
When below selected FCU altitude: go around. When above selected FCU altitude: cancel approach, select appropriate guidance.
How to catch the glide from above?
Minimum config 2, more as required. Select v/s 1500ft min initially. Wind up the altitude. Make sure gs is blue. Max v/s 2000 ft/min.
What are limitations for final app guidance?
Max 1 degree difference with published chart, do not use when ‘too steep path’ message, check OAT; do not use when low temperature corrections need to be made as it may not engage. Use of remote station QNH is not permitted.
If nav accuracy is low use trk/fpa.
How much FPA do you need to recover 100 ft?
1 degree in FPA recovers 100ft/min.
What are the autoland limitations for SE?
320 CEO: flap full only. 319/320 NEO: flap 3 and flap full.
What is the maximum weight for an autoland.
Max LW. 319 is certified up to 69 tonnes.
What is the maximum glideslope that is allowed for autoland?
CEO: 3.15 and NEO 3.25
What is the controlling RVR?
Touchdown zone. If not reported mid.
When does landing inhibit activate?
800ft RA
When does FMGC datalock happen and what does it?
700ft RA. It locks the ILS freq and course. You can’t change anything in the perf box anymore.
When does land mode appear and what does CM1 do?
350ft RA, check if ILS course is displayed
Autoland: When do flare mode and thr idle mode appear? When do we retard?
Flare mode appears at 40ft RA, thr idle appears at 30ft, retard sound at 10ft this is when we retard
When is the red autoland light active and what will activate it?
200ft RA.
- untimely, early, long flare
- loss of loc >15
- loss of g/s > 100ft
- loss of both autopilots
- ra difference of >15 ft
- loc or g/s deviation
- failure of ground equipment
What is alert height?
Height where if a failure occurs above: g/a has to be flown. If below: the aircraft can continue to do the landing on the automatics. 100ft RA
What do we need for auto rollout?
CAT II minimum. Mid/end reported at 75m. NWS and antiskid operative.
What do we need for auto land with manual rollout?
Mid/end reported at 125m/75m. Disconnect ap when nosewheel touches the ground.
When do we select reverse max?
Emergency, when decel rate is not as expected, failure affecting landing performance, long flare/touchdown, unexpected tailwind, loss of braking.
What to do when spoilers do not extend?
Verify thrust idle, select reverse full & manual braking full.
What is the balked landing procedure?
I have control TOGA
Select TOGA & Take over pb + hold
Fly away from runway
When climbing away: G/A flaps
Latest you can do it: reverse selected
When should the parking brake be released (brake temperatures)?
One brake above 500 degrees or brake above 350 degrees with brake fan on.
