What can you find in the aircraft status report?

A

Overview of technical conditions. Aircraft total hours/cycles, deferred level 1 and 2 defects, daily inspection information, briefing notices to crew and the closed level 1 defect in the last 7 days.

What are level 1 defects?

A

They affect the airworthiness of the aircraft. MEL/CDL will be included. Operational limitations or requires flight certification. It has a work order number, MEL/CDL reference and description of defect.

What is a level 2 defect?

A

A defect that does not affect the airworthiness of the plane.

When is the daily inspection valid?

A

Valid for 48 hours in addition:
- must be certified after last flight of calendar day
- after 1800UTC
- must remain valid for intended flight or series of flight (ie time of arrival)

If final sector the on block time is later than 2359 due unforeseen circumstances (ie hold) flight may continue to planned destination or destination alternate.

What are the different pages/ who are they for?

A

Top white: stays in techlog. Removable white: engineers overnight or after maintenance action. Yellow: only previous nights page remains until next engineering check. Pink: remove prior to each flight either complete or separate

When to remove a strip/full page of pink page?

A

Complete the lower half of sector strip and remove entire pink page when anything is written in “action taken” or “defect description” page or when there is no direct handover from previous crew
