The chain of freindship was the alliances formed before ww1. Such as the Triple entente France, Britain, Russia and the Triple Alliance: Germany, Italy, Austria Hungary.. The Chain represented how different countries had each others backs. Meaning, if one went to war, the others would help them. These alliances leaded to WW1 because a dispute between Austria-Hungary and serbia ended up dragging all the other countries in because they had to fulfill their promise.

-We were also called shock troops because we were very unique from other types of troopers, we were tough and not willing to back off, and simply hold our ground when times were rough

Black day for the German army was a large offenseive that took Germany by suprise. They were extremly unprepared and this destroyed their morale and made them loose a part of their hope in winning the war.
