What is OCD?
a common, chronic and disabling disorder marked by obsessions and compulsions that cause significant distress

viewed as inconsistent with the personality, values and moral perspective
What are obsessions?
recurrent, intrusive and distressing thoughts, ideas, images or memories that are unwanted and usually resisted

fear of contamination from germs
fear of harm
excessive symmetry concern
urge to hoard useless or worn out possessions
what are compulsions?
repetitive seemingly purposeful behaviours that individuals feel driven to perform.
usually recognised as irrational

deliberate exposure to obsessional stimulus
