Q

Explain how each eye receives and processes visual info.

A

The left half of each retina processes info from right visual field; right half of each retina processes info from the left visual field; they are sent to the primary visual cortex on opposite side. ; info from the centre of the visual field is processed by the centre of each retinae and both PVC’s

Q

How do the association areas of the occipital lobe enable visual perception?

A

Interacts with the primary visual cortices to select, organise and integrate visual information.
Interacts with other association areas to integrate visual information with other information (memory, language and sound) to be organised and interpreted.

Q

What might damage to the association areas cause?
