OCD
Obessesions - recurrent and perisstent thoughts that cause anxiety and stress
Compulsions - behaviros that indivisual feels driven to perform in response to an obsesion of according to rules that must be applied rigidly
Must be at least an hour a day or cause CSI
Can have one or other or both

4th most common
Men and women equal
Boys more than girls
OCD distinguishing and most common symptom and prognosis
Distinuish from OCPD
Contamination…followed by pathological doubt…followed by intrusive thoughts without a comulsion and symmetry
1/3 significant imrpvoement, 1/3 mod, 1/3 none
Prognosis of OCD
Poor if yield to compulsions…early onset…delusions
Tx of OCD
Pahramco, behavioral and psychotherapy
SSRIs are 1st line
Can use exposrue and response prevention for behavior therapy
Can use ECT or psychosurg if needed
Body dysmorphic disorder
Preocc with one or more perceived flaws in physicial appearance NOT observable or appear slight to others
At some point, perform repetitive behaviors or mental acts in response
CSI
Rule out eating disorder
BDD demo
Will most likely present to derm, PCP
BDD common symptoms
Gradual onset
Concerns others notice, avoid reflective surfaces
Tx of BDD
Serotonin-sepcifc may help
PRocedures do not
May need psychotherapy
Hoarding disorder
Persistent difficulty discarding things
Need to save and sitress to throw away
Substantially compromosis their intended use
CSI

Hoarding disorder coarse
Females have mpre acquisition
11-15 years old
Familial
Hoarding comorbidty
20% have OCD
75% have mood or anxiety
Tx of hoarding
SSRIs
CBT using exposrue and response prevention by:
Assessing clutter
Discarding items (ERP)
Replacing hoarding with better behaviors
Trichotillomania `
Recurrent pulling of ones hair resulting in hair loss
Attrempts to stop
