- uses long tube instrument w/ threads to illuminate organs (like telescope) to view internal organs

exam of vagina + cervix w/ a colposcope to identify abnormal cells
amniocentesis
procedure performed to detect genetic abnormalities/chromosomal disorders (ex. down syndrome) using long thin needle inserted into amniotic sac
preeclampsia (toxemia)
pregnancy complication where there is protein in the urine (lack of protein)
