What is the purpose of FSCMs?
Facilitate timely and safe use of fire support and may be restrictive or permissive in nature.
What is the definition of CAS
Is action by FW and RW aircraft against hostile targets that are in close proximity to friendly forces, and requires detailed integration of each air mission with the fire and movement of those forces.
What are the two types of CAS and the two missions for each?
Immediate 1. On call 2. Diverted Preplanned 1. On call 2. Scheduled
What is the definition of DAS
DAS is air action against enemy targets at such a distance from friendly forces that detailed integration of each mission with fire and movement of friendly forces is not required. Deep air support missions are flown on either side of the fire support coordination line; the lack of a requirement for close coordination with the fire and movement of friendly forces is the qualifying factor (MCRP 5-12C).
