Over the impact areas from surface up to 15k’ MSL
R-2503C
Overlies the northern 2/3 of 03B and extends from 15k up to 27k and is for artillery.
R-2503D
Lies above 03A from 2k up to but not including 11k MSL. It is available upon request and would be NOTAM’d that it is in use.
Minimum altitude for certain areas
Min alt of 500’ shall be maintained when flying over personnel, housing areas, camps, including San Onofre State Beach, Capistrano TRW Complex, MCB Golf Course, Range 401 (669 802), Naval Hospital (695 891), and Ammunition Supply Point (596 917).

2600’ MSL
Special VFR Mins.
800-1 required everywhere except North Initial and in the pattern. 500-1 required for those two.
Wx mins for the restricted area are 500-1 and clear of clouds.
What does TALA stand for?
Temporary Alternate Landing Area
What type of control is allowed for live fire CAS and what other rules are required for CAS.
Type 1. Sim CAS can be Type 2 and 3. Max live fire ordnance is 500# without prior approval. A mark shall be used for all live fire CAS. Using direct fire as mark requires pre-approval from RCO. Only MAG-39 helos can utilize a talk and only in the Z impact area during daylight hours.
HOLF Rules Daytime
No more than 3 aircraft may operate to one runway at anyone time for a max of six aircraft in the pattern total.
Aircraft shall operate at or below 1400’ MSL (1000’ AGL) unless otherwise coordinated by longrile.
Inbound aircraft will fly 1400’ MSL
Outbound aircraft will fly 900’ MSL
Daytime HOLF and HLZ ops are authorized for runway 22 only.
HOLF rules night
Max of two aircraft per pattern for max of four aircraft at the field.
Night HOLF and HLZ operations are not authorize.
Min weather for HOLF operations
Day: 800-2
Simo HLZ HOLF operations: 800-2
Night aidd; 1000-3
How close can you get to an aircraft taking cold fuel?
CAUTION: AIRCRAFT SHALL TAXI AND PARK NO CLOSER THAN 50’ TO THE
COLD REFUELING TRUCK WHEN COLD REFUELING OPERATIONS ARE IN
PROGRESS.
What areas can not be overflown on MCAS Pendleton?
Aircraft SHALL NOT over fly the fuel farm, Combat
Aircraft Loading Area or Arm/De-Arm Area the old and new Naval Hospital, and the small weapons range (Edson Range 1 NM west of the airfield) or ranch house.
Pilots will not over fly other aircraft, equipment, or
personnel below 500’.
What do you do if you have a two way radio failure while taxiing?
Pilots experiencing communication
failures will immediately stop and maintain position on the airfield. The pilot will then exercise extreme caution, turn towards the Tower, flash their landing lights, and wait for two way radio equipped airfield operations vehicle or wingman to provide escort or a light gun signal from Tower to return to the flight line.
