TACC
Tactical Air Command Center
Has supervisory role over all other MACCS agencies
TACC creates the ROE
Creates air tasking orders (ATOs) and assign aircraft to missions or reassigns as necessary.
TACC personnel use Contingency Theater Automated Planning System (CTAPS) to develope air contol plan.
Air Boss
Located at each Marine Air facility and is the main link between the TACC and the aircraft and pass launch orders
TADC
Tactical Air Direction Center
Is the precurser to the TACC during amphibious operations
MATCD
Marine Air Traffic Contol Detachment
Provides ground and tower services.
Have radar capabilities out to 60NM and interogate IFF up to 120NM
Usually have the AN/TPN-22 precision radar to provide radar approaches
Also have AN/TRN-44 mobile TACAN station
MMT
Marine air traffic control Mobile Team
Small group attached to MEU ACE and provide minimal ATC services at out lying field or LZ
TAOC
Tactical Air Operations Center
Responsible for for the entire air battle space.
Use AN/TPS-59V(3) radar which is 3d out to 300NM
“Socal appraoch with guns”
Provide navigational assistance, flight following, and direct fighters and missiles to intercept enemy aircraft.
MRRs
Minimal Risk Routes
Established by the MACCS to get aircraft through battle space with minimal comms by use of checkpoints, altitudes, and airspeeds to create and identifiable profile.
LAAD
Low Altitude Air Defense
Engaeg enemy aircraft with stinger missiles, and .50 cal
Can see mode 4 IFF and have radar with a detection of helicopters out to 14km
DASC
Direct Air Suppport Center
Dedicated to contolling aircraft who are tasked to support the GROUND operations
Talk to DASC on the TATC
DASC will use procedural control
Generally located with or electronically contected to the senior Fire Support Coordination Center (FSCC) IOT facilitate coordination with the GCE
ASLT
Air Support Liaison Team “az-lat”
Relays information between the FSCC (typically the air officer) and the DASC.
TAC(A)
Tactical Air Coordinator (Airborne)
Employed by DASC because of LOS comm limits
TAC(A) passes info from the FSCC, DASC and TACC to the aircraft IOT execute the battle plan.
ASLT
Air Support Liaison Team “az-lat”
Relays information between the FSCC (typically the air officer) and the DASC.
TAC(A)
Tactical Air Coordinator (Airborne)
Employed by DASC because of LOS comm limits
DASC(A)
Smaller DASC usually in a KC-130 flying near the objective area. Limited capabilites but still perform main funtion of processing requests for air support
TAD
Tactical Air Direction (net)
Comms with FAC, FAC(A) or JTAC in the objective area.
