  1. prepare a food sample and transfer 5cm(cubed) to a test tube.
  2. prepare a water bath thats set to 75C.
  3. add some benedits test to the test tube using a pippette.

4.place test tube in water bath and leave it for 5 mins

  1. if it contains glucose it will change from its normal blue color. it will become green or yellow in LOW CONCENTRATIONS of glucose. or red in HIGH

  3. if it contains starch it will turn from browny- orange to black or blue-black

  2. use a pippette to add 3 drops of sudan III solution and gently shake
  3. if it contains lipids the mixture will seperate and the top layer will be bright red. if it doesnt nothing will happen
