    1. Release brakes prior to crossing the arresting gear
17
Q

EMERGENCY CATAPULT FLYAWAY

A

*1. Throttle - MRT
*2. Maintain 24 units AOA
If engine failed, or unable to stop settle:
*3. Eject

18
Q

ENGINE FAILURE DURING CATAPULT LAUNCH

A

*1. Eject

19
Q

BLOWN TIRE(S) AT THE CARRIER

A

*1. Gear and flaps – DO NOT REPOSITION

20
Q

ENGINE FAILURE

A

If below 1,500 feet AGL and airspeed below 180 KIAS:
*1. Eject
If above 1,500 feet AGL or airspeed greater than 180 KIAS:
*2. Execute Airstart

21
Q

AIRSTART

A

*1. Emergency oxygen green ring(s) - PULL
*2. Throttle - OFF
Simultaneously perform steps *3. and *4.
*3. GTS start button – PRESS AND HOLD
*4. Throttle - IDLE
If unsuccessful (no relight within 30 seconds after moving throttle to idle or EGT exceeds limits):
*5. Throttle – OFF (allow 30 seconds to drain if practical)
If within windmill airstart envelope (below 25,000 feet MSL, minimum 13% N2 RPM, recommended minimum 250 KIAS):
*6. Repeat steps *3. And *4.

22
Q

ELECTRICAL FIRE

A

*1. GEN switch - OFF

23
Q

SMOKE OR FUMES IN THE COCKPIT

A

*1. Mask – ON/TIGHT
*2. Initiate controlled descent to below 18,000 feet MSL
*3. AIR FLOW knob – OFF (below 18,000 feet MSL if possible)
If unable to clear smoke or unable to see:
*4. Airspeed – REDUCE (as practical)
*5. Warn other cockpit occupant/secure loose items
*6. Seat - LOWER
*7. MDC firing handle - PULL

24
Q

RAPID DECOMPRESSION

A

*1. Mask – ON/TIGHT
*2. Initiate controlled descent to lowest safe altitude below 18,000 feet MSL
If rapid decompression results in cabin altitude above 18,000 feet:
*3. Emergency oxygen green ring(s) - PULL
*4. OBOGS FLOW selector(s) - OFF

25
Q

LOW/NO MASK FLOW

A

FLIGHT:
*1. Throttle – Increase N2 rpm above 75% (80% above FL300)
If low/no mask flow continues 10 seconds after increasing N2 rpm:
If cabin altitude above 10,000 feet:
*2. Emergency oxygen green ring(s) - PULL
*3. OBOGS FLOW selector(s) - OFF

26
Q

ADVERSE PHYSIOLOGICAL SYMPTOMS

A

*1. Initiate controlled descent to below 10,000 feet cabin altitude (approximately 15,000 feet MSL)
*2. Control rate and depth of breathing (approximately one breath every 5 seconds)
When cabin altitude below 10,000 feet:
*3. Mask – OFF (affected cockpit)
*4. OBOGS FLOW selector – OFF (affected cockpit)
*5. Continue controlling rate and depth of breathing with mask off

27
Q

TOTAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE

A
