Q

How does learning is the brain occur?

A

The brain contains 100-200 billion neurons which store and transfer info.
There is in fact and oversupply of neurons and synapses.
These neurons are pruned if not used.

A

Language processing

17
Q

The right side of the brain is responsible for…

A

Visual spatial info and emotions

18
Q

Plasticity

A

Ability of the brain to remain adaptable or flexible

19
Q

Applications of neurological theory to learning and teaching

A
  • focus on developing and strengthening the whole brain rather than just one area
  • change is slow, be consistent
  • emphasise big picture rather than fine detail
  • use stories to engage full brain
