Hypotension caused by the blockade of preganglionic sympathetic nerve fibres causing arterial vasodilation, venodilation and peripheral blood pooling

  • Fluids: no clear benefit of preload or co-load
  • Positioning: Less hypotension in lateral position, following spinal lt lateral tilt is key
