Clinical Indicator
A metric used to evaluate care. Can be compared to an evidence based value (quality indicator) or compared to a target (performance indicator)
RCOA quality standard for adequate epidural analgesia
Adequate epidural analgesia at 45 min after start of procedure >88%
RCOA quality standard for response time after patient request for epidural
Response time should not normally
exceed 30 min and must be within 1 h
RCOA quality standard for percentage of epidural re-sites
Rate of re-sited epidurals during labour
