A
- based around trad centralised server
- nodes comm with the server via central common connection point
- e..g hub or switch or router

A
- based on single shared cable (backbone) nodes r connected to it
- often known as ethernet
- data can be sent in both directions ( to and from server)

A
- P2P network as it has no dedicated file server
- all stations of network have same access rights
- data sent by 1 comp passes around the ring in 1 direction till it reaches destination.
- reduces data collisions
- faster data transfer
- only be used in LANS
- so only accessed within organusation so bettr secuirty
