What is a Server?
A computer that makes files accessible to workstations on a network.
What is a Network Cable?
A Network Cable is the networking hardware used to connect one network device to other network devices or to connect two or more computers to share printers, scanners, etc.
What is a Modem?
An electronic device that makes possible, the transmission of data to or from a computer via telephone or other communication lines.
What is a Router?
A Router is a networking device, which sole purpose is to connect data between computer networks.
What is a Hub?
A Hub is a connection point where data gather from other directions and spread out in many directions.
A Hub can also prevent a part of data from reaching a specific point.
What is a Switch?
A Switch is a device for different purposes such as, turning on or off, directing an electric an electric current and making or breaking a circuit.
What is a Network?
A Network is a telecommunications network which allows nodes to share resources.
What is the Internet?
The Internet is a vast computer network linking smaller computer networks worldwide.
What is the Intranet?
The Intranet is a computer network, with restricted access, for established protocol within a company.
What is the VPN (Virtual Private Network)?
The VPN is a system or technology that uses a public network, to be a connection between a private network and a remote authorized used, encrypted data running between.
What is the ADSL (Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line)?
A type of DSL with fast download speed but slower upload speed.
What is TCP/IP (Internet Protocol)?
IP is the rule where if in a specific action, this is what your supposed to do.
What is HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol)?
The HTTP is the standard action for transferring Hypertext documents on the web.
What is Streaming?
A download action where videos are played depending on the user’s download speed.
What is Protocol?
An established code of practise, to do in case a certain situation has happened.
