Nerve supply of hand Flashcards
What is the ulnar paradox
The more distal the injury to the ulnar nerve, the more severe the clawing seen
What muscles does the median nerve innervate in the forearm?
All of the anterior compartment apart from flexor carpi ulnaris and medial half of flexor digitorum profundus
What muscles does the median nerve supply in the hand?
LOAF MUSCLES (lateral 2 lumbricals, opponens pollicis, adductor pollicis brevis, flexor pollicis brevis)
What muscles does the ulnar nerve innervate in the forearm?
Medial half of flexor digitorum profundus, flexor carpi ulnaris
What muscles does the ulnar nerve innervate in the hand?
All intrinsic muscles apart from LOAF (Medial lumbricals, palmar and dorsal interossei, hypothenar muscles, adductor pollicis
