A

Less than 3.5 g of protein loss per day.-Hematuria (RBC Casts).-Azotemia-Hypertension

What is acute postinfectious glomerulonephritis? Characteristics?

A

Following strep infection/Antigen-antibody complexes precipitate on glomerular membrane. -Capillary endo cell proliferation.

What is IgA (bergers disease)? Characteristics?

A

Acute glomerulonephritis.-After 2-3 days after URT or GI viral infection.-IgA binds to mesangial cells inducing proliferation.

What is Rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis (RPGN)? Characteristics?Also called?

A

Antiglomerular basement membrane disease. AKA Goodpasture syndrome.-Get cresent from fibrin cells.

What is Chronic Glomerulonephritis? Examples? Charcteristics?

A

Varius disease cause slow progressive loss of renal function. -Diabetes mellitus (Glucose damages endo cells)-Hypertension (pressure damages glomerulus)-Autoimmunity.Get tubular atrophy, Slight proteinuriaWaxy and RBC casts in urine.

What is pyelonephritis? Complicated vs uncomplicated.

A

Invasive kidney infection from UTI (E coli, Proteus). E coli mostly causes uncomplicated version.

What is drug-induced interstitial nephritis?

A

Antibiotics, NSAIDS.IgE and T cell responseEosinophilia, hematuria.Analgesic nephritis is worse.
