Navigation Flashcards
What target is BTV aiming for on a dry or wet runway?
Ground speed is approximately 10 kt, approximately 60 m (200 ft) before the selected exit.
If you are at a position of 32S, engines running, how long to do full IRS alignment?
The alignment during engine start or while engines are running is possible. A complete alignment lasts between 5 and 17 min, depending on the aircraft latitude: From graph - 6 mins
How do you do a full IR reset?
To perform a new complete alignment with the IR already ON, the flight crew must perform the following actions, in the following sequence:
To turn off the IR, the flight crew must set the IR mode selector to OFF for more than 5 s. Then set the IR mode selector to NAV.
Which of the following is prioritised by the ADIRU when working out position?
The aircraft position function of each ADIRU provides the aircraft systems with the most accurate position that is available, using the following priority:
The consolidated GPIRS position
Where and what is the ISIS?
INTEGRATED STANDBY INSTRUMENT SYSTEM (ISIS)
There are two ISIS, one displays a SFD and one displays a SND .
Each ISIS can operate in any mode. However, one SFD is always displayed.
They are on both sides of the main instrument panel.
When does the RAD ALT become live?
The RAs operate below 5 500 ft AGL
AUTO RANGE message appears on ND when?
The AUTO RANGE/MODE function automatically changes the ND setting to the most appropriate range and mode, in particular for specific operational situations.
In the case of W/S AHEAD or W/S AHEAD or terrain or obstacle alert, the ND automatically changes range to 10 NM and mode to ARC.
In the case of TA or RA alert, the ND automatically changes range to 20 NM and mode to ROSE-NAV.
The ND displays the AUTO RANGE/MODE message.
When is the PWS function available?
If the WXR/PWS button is set to AUTO on the CONTROLS page of the MFD, and:
On ground: If the WXR is operative
During takeoff.
In flight, if the aircraft is below 1 500 ft AGL
What is the purpose of AZIMUTH knob on the
WXR?
VD AZIM KNOB When pulled, selects the manual AZIM mode. The ND displays a white line to indicate the selected azimuth value.
On the VD:
The eye symbol appears, instead of the aircraft symbol
The terrain appears along the selected azimuth.
The ND displays a straight white line based on the selected azimuth value.
When turned, adjusts the AZIM value in degrees.
The AZIM value is limited to ±60 ° around the current heading.
The VD displays the selected AZIM value in the VIEW ALONG AZIMUTH message.
The AZIM line moves on the ND, based on the flight crew’s selection
TCAS: Auto Range does what?
