Weingut Walter Rapp Bio

A

Located in Bad Münster-am-Stein, in the Nahe region of Germany, the estate was joined together some twenty years ago between the two families of Brigitte Sitzius-Rapp & Walter Rapp. This produced 16 hectares of vineyards between Ebernburg, Altenbamberg and Bad Kreuznach, with their best sites in Schlossberg, Rotenberg and Paradies where they grow Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Silvaner. But their particular focus has been in Ebernburg and Altenbamberg where the soils are predominantly volcanic rocks (porphyry) intermixed with weathered slate, clay and sandstone. It’s on these steep slopes and their striking sense for vinification – through tight yield reduction by a short incision of the fruit rods and meticulous care of the soil – their Rieslings develop delicate aromas with scintillating fruit.
