Justice in Islam

-The quote demonstrates the importance of Justice in Islam by setting down the requirements of what it means to be a Muslim. This includes standing up for justice and acting in a fair and just way within your lives.
Crime and Justice
“Allah commands justice, doing good… do not break oaths after they have been sworn”
- Allah expects fairness and Muslims to act in the right and just way
- They should honour their promises, such as to be law-abiding citizens.
Reward for good actions
“Allah will…reward them for steadfastness with Paradise and robes of silk”
Punishments and Forgiveness
“You who believe, fair retribution (Qisas) is prescribed for you in cases of murder… But if the culprit is pardoned by his aggrieved brother, this shall be adhered to fairly, and the culprit shall pay what is due in a good way.”
-If a person shows disregard for the life of another person, they lose their right to remain a member of society, unless those directly affected choose to forgive them.

Aims of punishments and Forgiveness
“Allah wishes to turn towards in mercy if you avoids great sins you have been forbidden, He shall wipe out your minor misdeeds”
-The quote shows that Islam teaches that fair punishment is important, but that those who do wrong need to be given the opportunity to repent and change.
